How much does carpet cleaning cost on the Isle of Wight?

3 min read

At Isle Shine, carpet cleaning starts with an £80 minimum call-out. Our guide is £50 for the first room-sized area and £30 for each additional area. This article explains how that works for homes on the Isle of Wight and what to include when asking for a firm quote. These are Isle Shine’s guide prices, not an average for every company on the island. Prices checked in October 2026; no VAT is added.

Carpet-cleaning price examples

One room-sized area: £80, because the minimum charge applies. Two areas: £80 (£50 plus £30). Three areas: £110. Four areas: £140. Five areas: £170. These examples assume room-sized areas within the agreed scope; unusually large rooms, condition or other requirements can change the final quote.

A staircase and its landing count together as one area. For example, two bedrooms plus stairs and landing count as three areas, giving a guide price of £110. Tell us about extra landings, hallways and unusual layouts rather than guessing how they will be counted.

What can affect the final price?

The number and size of the areas are the starting point. Heavy soiling, specific stains, odours, delicate fibres and access can affect the work required. Please mention parking, the floor the property is on and large furniture. Photos help us understand the job, but we may still need to assess the carpet before confirming a suitable method.

We do not generally quote for cleaning just a small patch of a room, because the cleaned and uncleaned areas may look different. Working around furniture is a separate situation: explain what can be moved and what needs to remain in place. Heavy furniture moving is not included.

What does professional carpet cleaning involve?

The approach depends on the fibre, condition and soiling. Where suitable, we combine pre-treatment, agitation, hot water extraction and a fibre rinse, using Prochem equipment. We also offer dry extraction options for selected carpets and settings where limiting moisture is appropriate. The method is assessed for the carpet; wool and other natural fibres need particular care.

The objective is to remove soil and improve the carpet’s appearance, but cleaning cannot reverse wear or repair colour loss. Some staining can be permanent. Pet odours may also involve the underlay or the floor below, so tell us what happened and which products have already been applied. No cleaner can sensibly promise that every mark will disappear.

How does this compare with hiring a DIY machine?

A useful comparison includes the hire fee, cleaning product, collecting and returning the machine and your own time. Hiring equipment may suit some routine jobs, but it also leaves the choice of products, moisture levels and technique with you. With a professional service, discuss the assessment, cleaning method, agreed areas and aftercare as well as the headline price.

Avoid choosing solely on a price per room without checking the minimum charge and what counts as an area. Ask whether the quote includes VAT, stairs, stain treatment or any other work you need. Our confirmed quote sets out the agreed scope so you can compare the actual services.

Preparing for a carpet clean

Clear small belongings and fragile items from the areas to be cleaned. Tell us about pets, sensitivities, delicate items and any access restrictions before the visit. Drying depends on the fibre, cleaning method, temperature and ventilation; we advise on aftercare rather than promising the same drying time for every carpet.

Carpets as part of an end of tenancy clean

Carpet extraction is a separately priced extra when requesting an end of tenancy clean. Include it in the request so the whole job can be planned and quoted together. Tell us when the property will be accessible and whether other trades will have finished. Sending an enquiry does not reserve an appointment; we confirm the price and availability with you.
